About
Carrot oil is typically produced as a CO2 extract or macerated oil, yielding a deep orange to amber-coloured oil rich in beta-carotene, vitamins A, C, and E. It has a medium consistency with a distinctly earthy, slightly sweet, and root-like aroma. In massage blending it is most often used as a minor component of a blend due to its potency and strong colour, adding powerful skin-regenerative and anti-aging benefits to formulas targeting mature, scarred, or devitalised skin.
Carrot oil has been used since ancient times in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cultures for its skin-nourishing properties. Historically, it was used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine and by ancient Egyptians for wound healing and skin rejuvenation. In European folk medicine, carrot-infused preparations were applied to promote healthy, youthful skin and to support healing of scarred or damaged tissue.
