About
Sandalwood essential oil is a thick, pale yellow to golden oil with a rich, creamy, woody-sweet aroma that deepens and improves with age. It is highly prized in massage for its deeply grounding, meditative quality and its affinity for dry, mature, and sensitive skin types. It blends seamlessly into carrier oils and is often used in facial massage, full-body relaxation treatments, and spiritual or ceremonially-inspired massage sessions.
Sandalwood has been revered for over 4,000 years in Indian Ayurvedic medicine, used in religious ceremonies, meditation, and as a cooling, calming remedy for inflammation and anxiety. It was traded extensively along ancient spice routes and became integral to Buddhist and Hindu rituals across Asia. In traditional Chinese medicine it was used to treat chest pain, abdominal pain, and skin conditions.
